House on vinyl

House was born in the mid-eighties in Chicago's clubs: four-to-the-floor kick, 120 to 128 BPM, and the legacy of disco and soul carried over to the drum machine. From there it jumped to New York, Ibiza and the rest of Europe, and by the nineties it was the common language of every DJ booth. Our crate is dominated by 90s and 2000s house on 12" maxi, the format it was played on, with record and sleeve graded separately.

120 records available of House at beatdo. All second-hand, graded record by record to the Goldmine standard.

House: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between house, deep house and tech house?

Deep house slows the tempo down and leans on jazz and soul chords; tech house takes the dry rhythm of techno and adds the groove of house. All three share the four-to-the-floor kick, and many labels released all of them.

Does a second-hand house 12" sound good?

It depends on its condition, which is why we state it record by record using the Goldmine standard: from M (unplayed) to VG+ (light marks you can barely hear) and below. Almost all of these records went through a DJ booth, so the grade is the first thing to check.
