Insolent Tracks: 32 records that have passed through the crate
The story of Insolent Tracks
Insolent Tracks is a Spanish label that released trance and progressive from the late nineties on. It was not a Makina house, and that sets it apart from almost everything around it: while the rest of the Spanish catalogue of the era was speeding up, here they were licensing and releasing the European trance that played in the big rooms.
Our crate holds thirty-two references, between 1997 and 2004, and the styles say it all: trance first, then progressive trance and progressive house. Names have passed through that anyone playing records back then will recognise — Klubbheads, System F, Critical Mass, The Muses Rapt — which is the sign of a label working with international licences and not just local production.
The INSMX prefix
References run on INSMX and a consecutive number, often with an (M) behind it marking the maxi. As in almost every label in this family, the number climbs with the years and works as an approximate date when the record turns up without a sleeve.

How to recognise a Insolent Tracks release
The catalogue numbers we have seen follow the pattern INSMX. It is the first thing to check on the centre label when a record comes with no sleeve, which in this repertoire is the norm.
